Vanhoozer Family of Jefferson County, Tennessee and Missouri
Mary Callahan, wife of Jacob Thomas was born 1806 in Jefferson County, Tennessee to William Callahan and Rachel Vanhoozer. Rachel was the daughter of John Vanhoozer who resided in New Market, Jefferson County, Tennessee. John died at age 104 or so. Rachel remained in Jefferson County, nursing him till his death in 1854, then moved west with Thomas and Vanhoozer family members to Harrison County, Missouri to rejoin many of her family members already living there. These photos/tintypes are in Nancy Pace Thomas's album now in possession of her grandson Douglas R Thomas who is himself 93 years old in 2007.
